INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2021:

To resonate with the history, customs and the noble love for the illustrious motherland, the college celebrated the day of national independence on 15.08.2021. All the people connected with the institution came together for this grand event on the college campus and beyond. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the teachers, students and non-teaching staff and it was a grand event in all respects. Sri Biman Krishna Saha, honorable president of the governing body hoisted the national flag and gave a rousing speech. Our beloved principal Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy graced the occasion with his august presence. The contribution of the martyrs and the common people was discussed by the students on their part. The program was concluded with a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem.

Tree Plantation programme-2021

The National Festival of Trees Planting (Van Mahotsav) in India is held annually from July 1 to July 7. As a part of Van Mahotsav celebrations throughout the country, Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy respected principal of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College, Dr. Akhil Sarkar, NCC officer, NCC cadets, and students planted saplings around the college campus on the 7th of July 2021.

 

Kargil (Martyr) Day Observation 21st July 2021

The Battle of Kargil (Kargil War 1999) was a defining conflict in the history of modern India. It saw a very hard fought victory based on the martyr of more than 500 soldiers on the snows of Kargil, Drass and Batalik sectors in Kashmir. The NCC celebrates this memorable historic event with solemn pride. On this auspicious day, the National Flag was hoisted by the respected President of the Governing Body in the presence of other teachers, non-teaching staff and students. Dr. Akhil Sarkar (ANO) gave an informative and rousing speech on the role of the Indian army and government at that moment of crisis. The students highlighted the supreme sacrifice of the martyred soldiers.

National Youth Day 12th January 2022

National Youth Day, also known as “Yuva Divas” is celebrated on 12th January 2022, on the college premise. The birth anniversary of Indian Philosopher Swami Vivekananda. Our respected Principal Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy was inaugurated and addressed the 25th National Youth Festival on January 12. On this auspicious day, the prime motto is to bring diverse cultures of India and integrated us into a united thread of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. A total of 50 NCC cadets were selected to participate in the programme.

23rd January Netaji Subash Birth Anniversary-2022

On January 23, 2021, the NCC Unit of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College was eager to celebrate Netaji’s birthday. On the occasion of this day, the activity of Netaji was evaluated, and taking motivation from his life, an oath or promise was taken to play an enlightenment role in nation-building. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose has been introduced as a doctrine by an Indian freedom fighter. Taking inspiration from his life and struggle, the cadets of this unit were inspired to contribute to nation-building and service.

26th January Republic Day Celebration 2022

The day was observed or celebrated at the Nabadwip Vidyasagar college with great joy and eclat. The college campus was tastefully decorated with national flags, and pictures of our freedom fighters. The celebration started around 10: 00 am. The honorable Governing Body President Sri Biman Krishna Saha hosted the National flag amidst a pompous environment. The NCC cadets and students saluted the National flag. In fact, it is a day of rejoicing and merry-making.

Tree Plantation Programme 2022

The NCC cadets of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College organized a tree plantation program on the occasion of world environment day on 5th June 2022 on the college premises to create awareness about saving trees. PI Staff from 54 Bengal BN NCC, Kalna were guided us during this programme. During the program, the NCC cadets and students planted the saplings of Neem, Ashoka, and other trees on the campus. The principal of the college Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy express that it is our responsibility to contribute our bit to keep our city clean and beautiful.” More than 100 NCC Cadets actively participated and they also took an oath that they would take much care of the saplings and will not cut trees ruthlessly.

Covid Relief Camp, 2022

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Nabadwip Vidyasagar College’s NCC unit organized a relief camp. The camp was held on the college premises on 5th April 2022, with the aim of providing support and aid to the underprivileged sections of society that were hit hard by the pandemic.

Camp Activities:

The NCC cadets and teachers set up various stations to distribute essential items, including food, masks, sanitizers, and medicine. They also organized awareness campaigns to educate people on the importance of maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, and following other safety protocols. Several medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, were at the camp to provide basic medical assistance to needy people. Not only that the administrative officials like the Inspector in Charge of Nabadwip Police Station and the Chairman of Nabadwip Municipality were also present at the camp.

The relief camp was a massive success, with a large number of people benefiting from the services provided. The NCC cadets and teachers worked tirelessly to ensure that the camp ran smoothly and efficiently. The Corona Relief Camp organized by Nabadwip Vidyasagar College’s NCC unit was a commendable initiative that demonstrated the NCC’s commitment to serving the community in times of crisis. The relief camp’s success was a result of the hard work and dedication of the NCC cadets, teachers, and volunteers, who came together to support the underprivileged sections of society. It is a testament to the power of community service and the impact that it can have in times of need.
