Observation of Kargil Martyr’s Day -21st July 2020

The Kargil (Martyr’s) Day is remembered with solemn pride and unmitigated sorrow across all the walks of life. The Battle of Kargil (Kargil War 1999) was a defining conflict in the history of modern India. Indian soldiers achieved a hard-fought victory based on the martyrdom of more than 500 soldiers and officers on the snows of Kargil, Drass and Batalik sectors in Kashmir. The NCC celebrated this memorable historic event with love and pride. On this auspicious day, the National Flag was hoisted by the respected President of the Governing Body in the presence of other teachers, non-teaching staff and students. Dr. Akhil Sarkar (ANO) gave an informative and rousing speech on the role of the Indian army and government at that moment of crisis. The presence of Dr. Swapan kumar Roy, beloved principal, added greater charm and poise. The students highlighted the supreme sacrifice of the martyred soldiers.

15th August Independence Day Celebrations, 2020

The independence of India has its roots in the blood, tears and supreme sacrifice of millions of Indians who overthrew the foreign yoke with perseverance and determination. Their selfless devotion is given due honour and applause on the 15th of August every year. As is the norm and tradition, the NCC unit of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College celebrated this very day with due love and respect in the college campus with the generous participation of the students and teachers. In the tradition of yesteryears, the President of the Governing Body, Sri Biman Krishna Saha hoisted the National Flag at 9.00 a.m. in the august presence of Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy, beloved principal and Lieutenant Dr. Akhil Kumar Sarkar, ANO of NCC. The cadets of the NCC along with the teachers and students graced the occasion.

Corona Awareness Camp 2020

The outbreak of the global COVID’19 pandemic threw the whole world into disarray and confusion. The suffering of the People and the Death-Toll from disease and other disruptions shook the foundations of humanity to the very core. Moreover, the needful implementation of the lockdown disrupted education immensely. Rising to the occasion, the NCC unit of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College held out its generous hand towards the service of mankind. The Corona Awareness camp on 16th November 2020, was one of the initiatives in this regard. NCC cadets, led by the well-beloved ANO (Dr.) Akhil Sarkar and Sri Debabrata Modak (Non-Teaching Staff) distributed face-masks and sanitizers to the people of the locality. The cadets also took pains to make the people aware of the dangers of novel Coronavirus 2019 and its prevalent mutations.

23rd January 2021 Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Birth Anniversary Celebration

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the patriot of patriots has left a legacy that is inscribed onto the collective heart of India in glowing colors. His sacrifice and superhuman effort is a class in itself and have inspired millions. On the 23rd of January,2021 Nabadwip Vidyasagar College celebrated and observed his birth anniversary with love, affection and respect. The National Flag was hoisted by the respected President of the Governing Body, Sri Biman Krishna Saha, at 9.30 a.m. in presence of the teachers and students of our College. Our beloved principal Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy graced the occasion with his august presence. The National Anthem and the NCC song were sung out with reverence. A total of 125 NCC cadets were selected to participate in the program.

26th January, Republic Day Celebration 2021:

The democratic republic of India celebrates its inception on the 26th of January every year. It is a red-letter day for all Indians. The spirit of the day is etched in more than a billion hearts and is celebrated in heartfelt outpourings of love and joy. On the 26th of January,2020 the college and its populace stood together on the college premises to celebrate Republic-day. The National Flag was hoisted by the respected President of the Governing Body, Sri Biman Krishna Saha, at 9.30 a.m. in presence of the teachers and students of the college. Our beloved principal Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy graced the occasion with his august presence. He elucidated unto all the significance of this magnificent day in glowing words. Everyone came together to sing the National Anthem. More than 150 NCC cadets graced the occasion with their presence.

Tree Plantation Program 2021

Renewed commitment towards mother nature is the duty of every educated human being. The faculty and pupils of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College are no exception. To reiterate that very same commitment, the college celebrated the tree plantation program like every other year. The NCC of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College joined hands with the teacher and student populace to observe and celebrate the occasion. The day before was spent on cleaning the campus and the adjacent garden. On an auspicious day the students, led by the NCC cadets went about their task of planting saplings and assuring them protection with great care and commitment.
