Kargil (Martyr’s) Day Observation- 21st July 2019

The Kargil (Martyr’s) Day is a day that is remembered with tears and pride all over India. The Battle of Kargil (Kargil War 1999) was a defining conflict in the history of modern India. It saw a very hard-fought victory based on the martyrdom of more than 500 soldiers and officers on the snows of Kargil, Drass and Batalik sectors in Kashmir. The NCC celebrated this memorable historic event with solemn pride. On this auspicious day, the National Flag was hoisted by the respected President of the Governing Body in the presence of other teachers, non-teaching staff and students. Dr. Akhil Sarkar (ANO) gave an informative and rousing speech on the role of the Indian army and government at that moment of crisis. The students highlighted the supreme sacrifice of the martyred soldiers.

23rd January Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birth Anniversary, 2020

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was one of the bravest sons of mother India. His initiatives of free will and political independence roused millions into fervent action. The birth anniversary of Netaji was celebrated with due respect and reverence in the college campus and the event was spearheaded by the NCC unit of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College. On January 23, 2020, Nabadwip Vidyasagar College NCC Unit observed and celebrated the 124th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. On this day of remembrance and glory, the National Flag was hoisted by the respected President of the Governing Body, Sri Biman Krishna Saha, at 9.00 a.m. in presence of the teachers and students of our college. The National Anthem and the NCC song were sung out with reverence. A total of 120 NCC cadets were selected to participate in the programme.

26th January 2020, Republic Day celebrations

The 26th of January is an auspicious day in the Indian national calendar since it reinforced the idea of India as a democratic republic. As such, the importance of the day is manifold and carries a lot of strategic depth. The NCC unit of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College celebrated this very day with due grandeur and reverence in the college campus with the generous participation of the college populace. The President of the Governing Body, Sri Biman Krishna Saha hoisted the National Flag at 9.00 a.m. with the teachers and students of the college. He gave a short speech on the significance of this magnificent day in glowing words. Dr. Akhil Kumar Sarkar(ANO) gave a short speech on the history of this fateful day. Everyone present came together to sing the National Anthem gracefully. More than 120 NCC cadets graced the occasion with their presence.
